Tamiya 1/72 Republic P-47D thunderbolt 'Bubbletop'

Post by rodrant »

Here it is after a 'long' but pleasant Build :

http://intscalemodeller.com/viewtopic.php?f=261&t=6948

The Tamiya 1/72 Republic P-47 Thunderbolt 'Bubbletop' flown by Major Benjamim Mayo , from 84th FS, 78th FG , 1944 , configuration for ground attack .

A very nice kit ! Very comprehensive build , all fix perfectly , only some pin moulds in some landing gear parts , but we can live with it ( at least i can ... :P 9 )
Decals ...perhaps the most problematic form this build ...I guess that I took more time in decals than building the plane itself (a liitle exagerated , but ...) not realy the decal quality , to me they were nice , but large decal surface , the nose and the 'Liberty stripes' under the wing the more problematic , a lot of decal softner , ad a lot of patience with some situations that I thought I ruined the build ...

Again a very good Tamiya Kit ! Wish they made this in 1/32 Scale !
without more delays , here you have the Photos , hope you like the reveal ....oh , again a small base vignette( it wasn't one of my kits if it hasn't some base ..) , made it in just 15 minutes ..really ...a balsa wodden base , some Noch( the German brand that makes this type of materials ) grass sheet , some Noch plants , and Tamiya texture paint brown , even it isn't dry yey  .The effect is very nice and make a very nice base for the Jug ...

A Photo of it in a PSP base , took it for a while from the Hellcat Nightfighter ...

really hope you like it , I like very mich to build it !

Now to start a new build in this GB ...my first diorama with a tank and figures ...stay tuned , soon in this great forum !

António

Great job! Looks good, I like the base too. Simple yet effective. Those rocket pods look like Zuni rockets from an F-8 Crusader!

Thank you all for the nice comments guys ! I Really apreciate your comments.

But I was seeing the pictures and think :what the hell ???:

Miss something on the plane , yes it has a rear mirror above the front cockpit window  it wasn't there , so I thought that the evil carpet come and toke me this from this nice build , but i checked and still was inside the box of the kit , must have felt there ...uff , Now it is complete ! :th:

I've always loved the look of the P47, such a big plane for a fighter. They always look huge to me.
You've done an excellent job on this Antonio.
Well done buddy. Wonderful work. :th: :th: :th:
