Eduard 1:72 F6F-3 Hellcat Profipack

Post by Radzy »

Hello there :)
My Hellcat is ready to be revealed to the world :)
That was fantastic and almost flawless build... Almost because reference blue paints weren't much... blue... and I had an accident with the paper towel - which left lots of bad marks on bottom of the plane (can be visible on one of the pictures below).

It was build as an entry fro Jake Cutter's Carrier Aircraft GB
I strongly recommend this kit for anyone. Except PE it's easy and virtually no filler was needed as the gaps didn't exist :)

And now some pictures and Final Reveal vid at the end :)

Excellent work and some superb weathering - those exhaust stains are spot-on!

Excellent stuff Radzy! The weathering and chipping is really something. She looks like she just landed after a hard fight in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, lol. Spot on

lovely detailing sir, not over done, something ive just picked up is when the decals are set and you are feeling brave, run a new blade in the panel lines over the decals then put some more microsol on it makes the decal sit right inside of the panel lines. only for the brave mind.

I'm really glad you like it.

Brave indeed you have to be for such trick. I also heard some rumours about guys who remove film from decals - which seems to be even more hardcore. But in fact decals were the only small drawback of the whole kit - they were simply too thick in my opinion, so they look like if they didn't settle enough.

Eryk, so maybe it is time to revisit Hellcat ? :) This Eduard kit is a state of art and builds like a charm.
I've seen your Sturmtiger - wow that's what I call a well finished model. Congratulations, my friend.

Cheers,
Radek
