Hobby Boss 1/72 Sukhoi T-50 PAK-FA

Post by LudvigN »

Post-build reflections:

The kit is pretty straight forward with nicely molded parts. No major fit issues and no questions about the instructions. The paint call outs couldve been more specific. The recessed detail could've been more crisp to hold a wash better. All in all a pleasant build of a nice looking aircraft.

+ Crystal clear canopy
+ Strong design of the landing gear
+ Nice cockpit detail
+ No fit issues
+ Crisp exhausts

- The scale of the cockpit/aircraft
- Surface detail could've been deeper
- Overly complicated pitot tube
- Thick decals

Final conclusion:

Would I recommend this kit? Probably not. There is nothing wrong with the construction or the kit in general. But the over sized seat bothers me. It's hard to explain but since the seat and the cockpit scales are mixed, it makes me wonder if the rest of the aircraft is out of scale aswell. I know the plane is "bigger" than the original if you scale this kit up, that could be one issue. If you wont be bothered by this, go ahead. Otherwise I would wait for an updated version of this kit were these issues has been corrected.

Here are the pictures.

Brilliant build all over, as it looks fantastic to me, i don't build planes and i couldn't tell if there was an issue with this or not, as standing back from it, i like it allot.
