'Hunt the Tiger' - anyone ?

Post by warpvortex »

Morning, folks...

So - having burnt myself out (literally - pesky German big cats!) on World of Tanks, I went to see 'Fury' last week, and now I've got the WWII bug again...

So... has anyone tried any WWII tabletop games or wargames with any degree of success...

I've hunted around and found Bolt Action by Warlord Games - anyone tried this system?

They have a contest/mini-game at the moment with loads of tanks and boxed games to win... might be worth a minute of your time, if you're into modelling or curious...

Not tried the bolt action system but I have played Flames of war. Easy rules and a great range of armies to play with!

I used to play Avalon Hill's Squad Leader a fair bit. More of a board wargame than a table top game but loads of fun:

One of the first computer games I bought was Close Combat II, which was based on the Squad Leader series of games:

I still play it from time to time. Graphics are dated, but who cares? Gameplay is great.

My friends and I play the Two Hour Wargames system using Nuts though they have just released a more tank based ruleset.http://www.twohourwargames.com/ww2.html

The writer Ed is very helpful as well :)

Hope you have fun
