Avro Lancaster B.Mk.1

Post by newpapajack »

Hi guys, finished my Lancaster finally. I've been building this thing on and off for ages. Nice to have it done. It's a Revell 1/72 kit and I can recommend it, was an enjoyable build with no real issues. This is my third proper build and kept weathering subtle as I might use this later in some sort of diorama... maybe.
Any feedback, hints, tips etc are welcome! :th:

Avro Lancaster B.Mk.1 of No. 9 Squadron, RAF in Bardney, 1945.

Hi

Your finished build looks excellent.
Remember building Lancaster bomber when I was a kid and was intending to try again, can you tell me what the finished dimensions are ? Imperial or metric either is ok as I am of a age where you needed to work with both

Thanks

Hi Johng thanks for the comments. No problem - wingspan is 430mm and nose to tail is 290mm. Hope this helps :) You scratch building one??!

Hi jack

Didn't pick up on your Scratch Build joke earlier, nice one that would have been some achievement for a 12 year old.

I have actually worked on military aircraft, largest size wise would be the Nimrod before government pulled the plug on it.

Anyway I am going to buy Lancaster kit and have a ago
Cheers
