2017 GB Feline Fever and Warring Weather Build Idea Compendium

Post by PrivatePublic »

I brought up this idea in the GB poll thread and there was some interest so here it is:

Of the 3 GB slots up for grabs for 2017 the two that (so far) are in the lead happen to be:

Feline Fever - Any military Vehicle, AFV or Aircraft from any era and used in any arena with anything feline in its name - Wildcat/Hellcat/Lynx/Tiger/Panther/Leopard - you get the idea!

Warring Weather - Any model (inc civilian) with a type of weather in it's name - Lightning/Wirbelwind/Snow Cat/Hurricane/Typhoon/Thunderflash - you get the idea!

Now everyone knows the Lightnings, the Tigers, the Panthers, the Thunderbolts etc but I figured we could compile something of a list of related subjects to hopefully spark some ideas and add some more variety to the GBs. So here we are, if you can think of anything that would relate to either GB post it here and I'll try to keep the OP updated when possible :thumb1:

PS If anyone want's me to format by country or alphabetically or add links wo Wikipedia or something I can, if this get's large enough I may even need to create a spreadsheet.

PPS Spoiler tags would be great.

Great idea, should provide plenty of variety if (when) these GBs go ahead. I have one to add to the Feline Fever at the moment - one that i'm tempted to build myself - the Sepecat Jaguar.

Well, the English name for the SAAB 37 is Thunderbolt. The word "Viggen" translates to "the tufted duck", "vigg" is "tufted duck". Thunderbolt in Swedish is blixt.

But if it's allowed I'll definitely build one.

F-35 Lightning II, I've got the Hasegawa 1/72 in the stash, might try the Academy kit as well. Might be the overlooked "lightning".

Totally forgot about the 202. I've been wanting to build one for a while. Thunderbolt is a pretty popular aircraft name apparently...

Also added a couple more Italians and Germans that I just remembered/found out about

Would Nebelwerfers count in the Warring Weather group? They're generally referred to as Smoke Mortars but the literal translation is "Fog Thrower".

This would cover a whole range of armaments from the towed launcher arrays to the wurfrahmen mounted rockets on half-tracks.
Cheers, Neil

Did we ever get a yes/no on fictional aircraft for Warring Weather? Was thinking of either of these Thunderbolts:

If not, it's cool. Been itching to do a J2M3 Raiden for a while now. Just would like to know in advance as it could be 4-8 weeks for kits to get to me :cheers2:

I've one suggestion for the Feline Fever GB, if admin allow it. Gripen (Gryphon/Griffon), body and legs of a Lion, head and wings of an Eagle. Allowable?

I am new to ISM and am interested in the Feline Fever GB.

Quick question - will be depicting Kursk using Panther D and T34 - would this be allowed (as it diorama would also have a destroyed T34)?

Thanks

I don't see why not. To my knowledge it only has to contain something that qualifies, but can absolutely contain other things :th:
