With photoetch thats exceedingly bent
It got muddled through
Amid puddles of glue
And these photos show how it went
Mirage Hobby 1/350 Flower Class Corvette HMS Anchusa
White Ensign Models Photo Etch
Box and sprue shots and in-box review here http://intscalemodeller.com/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=2903
My first model ship since bowing up Airfix’s Scharnhorst with a banger in the late 1960s. Also, my first aftermarket Photo Etch.
It was a challenging build and I got in a complete and utter mess with the small parts and PE. But, I learned a lot and, much to my surprise, if you do not look too closely, it looks like a Flower Class Corvette! Painting to follow. One major lesson was, next time, to build in sub-sections and paint as you go and not to leave it all to the end like I've done here

A summary of the build
First steps on the rear of the ship - note individual depth charges and broken hoist on port (left) side.

The middle bits - funnel, galley roof and bridge

Note broken and replacement boat spar

Gun deck - believe it or not the tiny part at the end of the pointer has to be folded in three stages to form 'shell ready use' stands to line up around the gun deck (cue complete train wreck)!

Mast

Fore and aft compete, all railings on. Boats and bridge are not permanently attached.

Ready for primer and paint

So, there you have it. Certainly not what you might call a 'clean' build and just about every bit of PE is a bit mangled and askew, but, to my not impartial eye anyway, it looks the part!
I'll post updates after primer and during painting and weathering. Bye for now
