I must built the Nashorn on the cover art:



I love the way the winter wash was applied to leave stripes of the summer camo showing through.

So about 3 hours into the Tamiya and:



So far it's falling together. Tamiya has taken their habit of great instructions and fit to a new level with this kit. Kits (specifically the instructions) make me want to run down the hallways of Dragon's office, kicking everyone that I meet in the crotch.

I will be building other Nashorns in the future and I'll probably hold my nose and buy a Dragon for one of them. Along with a more traditional camo Nashorn to go in a small diorama with a motorcycle messenger with a dog in the sidecar (inspired by the book), I feel compelled to build one modelled after a Nashorn captured by Canadians in Italy and turned on it's former owners:

I like some of the unique subjects. That looks pretty cool. I wonder though if the guys operating it were praying that their allies/friendlies believed they really were Canadien and not just the Germans putting a big fat Canada on it to fool them. Same with all the other captured vehicles that were just repainted with no other physical modifications.

I'd like this kit, so can't wait to see what you think of it and see how it turns out!

I'm loving this stuff:

So the base coat was done and the interior bits protected:



Then the exterior was masked:



Ammo chipping fluid followed by Ammo washable white:



And now we wait:

Ooooooh the anticipation......

PS: The mental image of you running down Dragons works kick people in the crutch is brilliant.

Tempted by this kit everytime I see it in the model shop. Never done much WW2 armour, but there are bits and pieces that really catch my fancy, and this is one. Shame its an expensive kit here in the UK (usually around the £40-£50+ price).

Looking forward to seeing the result of the washable white and chipping fluid!

So we now have the Badger primer with tamiya acrylic over top of that. Then a coat of Ammo's chipping fluid and finally (for now) the Ammo washable white acrylic.

I forgot to mention in the video, zero issues with the masking tape or blue-tac lifting the paint off the Stnylrex, it really seems like this is the new gold standard for primers.
