International Scale Modeller

All finished...... Yay!!
To quote a line... " Game over man... Game over!..."
As is the normal for me, I have tried and failed to gather a collection of quality images of the finished product.
Instead, I will just give you a picture flood of what I managed to take yesterday as the sun shone down here in the UK..
Hope you find them of interest, thanks to all of those who followed and encouraged me to complete this teeny old kit.

Hahaha... yeah only left the garden for a week... the constant flick between rain and sun brings the garden on a treat.... Unfortunately!!...

Thanks for taking a look at my dio buddy and the answer is yes and no...
My build thread is in the Rising Sun GB build section and to save you hunting through i did do a scratchbuild of the 1/76 scale Palmtrees. The other Jungle bits were clipped from some conifer/spruce/pine type plants and bushes in the woods around Christmas time specifically for this diorama.
The long grass and small shrubs are just scenic lychen, hedging material and hanging basket liner, the grassy weave type..

I have a collection of 1/76 scale Airfix kits purchased real cheap around christmas when Airfix did a clear out..
I have purchased a couple of 1/48 scale kits recently to try and improve my kit collection.
...but i do like small scale, storing them is so much easier and a dio can be built easily and effectively..

Thanks Scott, hahaha..... Yeah she took a direct hit to the back end and Boom!....
Glad you liked the detailing buddy..... Yeah I really should have singed the hanging and close proximity undergrowth...
Oh well, next time I'll remember to add the soot and smoke a little more.. Lol...

Had to doctor and hack and chop it some to make it work but I about got it to tell the story I was after..

I think you would make amazing builds in 35th scale
If you can make something this small with so much details think of the potential in a larger scale

Hahaha..... Only a month late mate... Lol... But its fine, posts dissapear off the first page in minutes now days so its easy to comment one minute, then gone and forgotten the next because you don't see the thread again. I do it often...

1/35 scale would be cool, I have a couple of kits at this scale too but I feel I am still not experienced enough to do one justice. I would want and expect too much from the build and don't feel confident in my skills delivering when needed.
On the other hand, detailing the teeny builds is near impossible.
Luckily..... the compromise is 1/48. Just brought a handful, well I got 4 actually...to hone my build skills on...

Japanese armor really didn't stand much of a chance against Allied tanks; my research turned up several photos where Japanese Type 97's looked like they'd had a can opener used on them.

Your little dio really captured that vulnerability well, but I think your figures are really well done, too.

I too found nothing but carnage amongst the Japanese Tanks and crew. I think the Japanese tanks faired in the same way against Sherman's as the Sherman's faired against the Tiger 1. To be honest I did read somewhere that the Allied airstrikes and artillery hit hard against the opposing forces as they came ashore....
My little dio depicts a rear end strike from a Sherman, the engine has exploded and a fire has devastated the interior.
4 to 5 crew manned the Type 97, my build shows only 3 made it out, the commander never even managed to open the top hatch to escape....
