so , after a initial plan to make a Mosquito depicting it in wood , here it is my participation on this SiG

A Camo Mosquito , and it is a nice plane , really beautifull in my opinion !

This is a Tamiya Kit , used some Eduard PE for the cockpit , mainly the seatbelts , as I do not like the decals one and also the instrument panel , all painted with Tamiya Acrylics , and a wonderful kit , really nice one , even makes me wondering to buy the !/32 , yet I think that in a collection , this is a good option if you live in an Apartment (like me ...) :-)

The option depict a Mosquito FB Mk.VI ,487 Sqn MM417/EG-T , I found in a Moquito Aces from WWII the figure of it , and found that it was flown by Wg Cmmdr I S Smith and it is from RNZAF , Hudson, March 1944 :-)

some fact and history on this Mossie , as it is in Osprey Book 'Mosquito Aces from WW II' in their number 69 Aircraft of the Aces collection .

' Blackie Smith had claimed the first ever Mosquito nightfighter victories in June 1942 and later returned to operations as CO of No 487 Sqn , leading the unit on the famous Amiens prision raid in FB VI EG-R. He preferred to fly MM417 EG-T , however and on 26 March , with Navigator Flt Lt R A Nash , he led an attack on coastal defences emplacements under construction at Les Hayes .MM417 was hit by flak during mission and Smith was forced to crash-land at Hudson .The FB VI was wrecked , but the crew escaped without injury ' .

So not a very famous plane , not a bright finish , but make a lot of history in WWII :-) , nice to discover this history on the plane that you are building

Lovely build Antonio. The back story is great, I like to hear about the history of these planes that we build.

:jd: Wow..... As always a super build António..
I think the kit is superb, and you have built a fantastic example mate.
I love the history on this plane, it is good that us as builders take the time to find out a little about what we are trying to represent. The serial and registration are something to research and ponder over the campaigns the build flew in real life.. Well done again on sharing the info.... And well done again on a fantastic finish..

Keep safe and well my friend... All the best.. :thumb1:
