Final verdict on the kit is that it's decent but needs lots of fiddling with to fit correctly. It's also got some of the worst decals I've yet to encounter--worse than Tamiya--and if and when I grab the 1/48 Academy Phantom if it doesn't come with some other brand of decals I'll be sourcing my own aftermarket. (I think the Eduard pack has some Cartograph or other similar company of good quality). These decals would not conform, were thick as credit cards, and loved to get topcoat under them. I also couldn't get the canopy back to normal, to 100% clarity after an adhesive mishap, but that's ok. I can always fix that any time I feel less busy.
