1/35 diorama fight back

Post by gerry7944 »

This is a 1/35 diorama of German troops moving through a Russian city.

The building is Mini art along with the knocked out ISU 76M.

The figures are a combination of Tamiya and dragon.

I have used Tamiya and Vallejo paints and Mig pigments.

The base is scratch built as is the rubble

Cheers

Gerry

Great attention to detail! that rubble looks super, so do the figures. I´m always amazed by the skill some people have with German uniform camo patterns, i never seem to get it right.

The rubble is a combination of 1/35 bricks, several rubble packs from different model manufacturers, cork pieces, broken up red bricks which I hammer to the right size and consistency cat litter and small pieces of broken up balsa wood and cocktail sticks. i get a large Tupperware box and mix these all together into what I call my rubble box and voila. I lay it onto the diorama on top of thinned down PVA glue and also apply over the top of rubble. Once this is dry I give it several washes of thinned down acrylic browns, dark yellows and black before finishing with a dry brush of light gray.

The uniforms I use either Tamiya or Vallejo paint. I give the figure a base coat of the main co lour say dark yellow I then decide what co lour the c ammo is going to be ie dark green and red brown I then lay down various shapes with these colors onto the base co lour. If it is pea dot c ammo I then take say dark yellow and with a very fine brush apply small dots to the green or red brown. This is tedious and can take a while but the results are good. I then lightly dry brush with a lighter co lour of the base co lour.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
