Looking forward to seeing this build up.

Does the vehicle crew include the poses shown on the boxart because their is no way that guy can change one of those tyres on his own?

Made a start! But first, a snippet of History....

The Supacat Coyote is based on the High Mobility Transporter (HMT) platform developed by the Supacat company based in Honiton, Devon, UK, which it produces under licence with US advanced technology and defence manufacturer Lockheed Martin.

The HMT’s unique air suspension system enables the 6×6 drive Coyote to be a highly mobile battlefield vehicle across all manner of terrain. Its main role is to support long-range operations for its sister HMT 400 Jackal vehicles and to transport troops, equipment and supplies.

By any standards the Coyote is big, at The Supacat Coyote is seven metres (23 feet) long, two metres (6.7 feet) wide and with an adjustable height of 1.9-2.4 metres (6.2-8 feet). It has a kerb weight including fuel and armour of 6,600 kilograms (14,550 pounds) and can carry a 3,900-kilogram (8,600-pound) payload.

A Cummins 6.7-litre turbocharged diesel engine gives it a top speed of 120 kilometres (75 miles) per hour and a range of 700 kilometres (435 miles), so that it can easily carry and tow supplies and equipment where necessary throughout a sizable battlezone. Further, it can deal with one-metre (3.3-foot)-deep water obstacles and 60 per cent gradients.

Since the HMT 600 is an open-top vehicle, even the best armoured protection makes it vulnerable to mines or sustained attacks. For this reason, it relies mostly on firepower and mobility to deal with enemy forces.

To cope with different battle areas and situations the Coyote can be installed with a range of cutting-edge features from blast and ballistic protection kits, run-flat tyres, a self-recovery winch, weapon mounts for machine guns, smoke grenade launchers and infrared lights.

Surprisingly, it is a relatively easy vehicle to drive as it has very light power steering, sensitive hydraulic brakes and the HMT air suspension system that ensures it’s a smooth ride.

When there is a need to quickly deploy the Coyote, it can be transported by large military aircraft, such as the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.

First of all let me congratulate Airfix on an outstanding kit! They get alot of flak so credit where its due. This is a joy to build, and found myself chuckling in glee as it basically builds itself as all the parts (so far) slot together wonderfully. Also top marks for the level of detail. Remember this is 1/48..... Would love to see this in 1/35 :)

Anyways, onwards with my progress so far.....

Front and rear wheel assemblies....

Rear chassis assembly.....

Aaaaand that's where I'm upto. The ejection pin marks are well placed that they will be hidden. I can't fault the kit as of yet. I hope the rest of the build goes as well! Cheers! :cheers2:

Some more progress:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Ejector pin marks will be hidden once the seats are installed. They will be painted seperately, so will be added near the end

Image

First bit of clean up I've had to do so far.... sanding off this seam line on the spare wheel cover:

Image
Image

Rear doors assembly:

Image

Image

Image

Rear door upper hinges:

Image

Rear doors attached:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Rear stowage racks assembly:

Image

This radio antenna holder fits on the end of the right rear stowage rack.... the hole wasn't quite deep enough for a snug fit, so out came the micro drill:

Image

Stowage racks fitted but not glued to allow for movement. Only the divider between the racks either side are glued as well as the end pieces:

Image

Image

Image

Thats all for now. Lovin' this build!

Only downside now is I've got a fair few nightshifts to get through at work, so no Man Cupboard time for about 8 maybe 9 days.... :(

Be back soon, and thanks for stopping by! :th: :cheers2:

It certainly will be mate! Nothing like a painting challenge to give me a few late nights! Rather than painting it fully assembled, I'll be breaking it down into various stages...... and taking my time! Seriously don't want to cock up the paint job after its been such a cracking build. :cheers2:

REALLY struggling for bench time  but made a little more progress. Determined to get this finished, hopefully with a little simple dio base.

Armaments painted up:

Image

Seat belts made up from Tamiya masking tape, painted and scuffed up a bit. Not sure if they look over scale?:

Image

Image

Seats glued in:

Image

Steering wheel added to front cab, ready for attaching to main body:

Image

Ready to attach!

Image

Attached!

Image

Image

Image

Attaching doors and Gun ring:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Gun ring was a bit fiddly to attach, but got there in the end!

Image

Image

Ready for a couple of coats of Pledge ready for washes, weathering etc etc......

Image

And thats where I'm upto. The end is in sight.... Really hoping to get time to knock up a simple dio base, fingers crossed!

Won't be using the figures, although I will be using a few bits off them for a little stowage.

Cheers, and a Very Merry Christmas to one and all :th:  :cheers2:
