Hereby some photos of my entry into this Group build.
I made a 1/35 scale model of a BMP. The kit is a BMP-2 by Dragon (3508) I added an Eduard photoetched detail set, an Aber gun and muzzle break and Masterclub Tracks.
I really enjoyed building the kit, though it is not as good as some other Dragon kits which I have built in the past. This kit was the first for which I bought aftermarket sets to make it look nicer. It was just my second kit ever with a substantial amount of photo etched parts. I found this very challenging, but good fun and a nice learning experience.
I painted the kit with MIG paints and I used MIG pigments for weathering. It represents a BMP-2 as used by Assad Regime soldiers during the current Syrian Civil War. I choose this BMP-2, because I find it an interesting paint job and because of the battered look the BMP-2’s used in that conflict have. With the building and painting of the kit I left out some parts and modified a few others to make the AFV look like it’s been used a lot. I am happy with the result!
Anyway, enough chatter! Here are some photo’s.
