Hello all,
This is my first group build and it's only my 10th kit in recent years. I have no chance of winning, but I think it's fun just to be part of the build. Also, ISM has helped with my builds so much, maybe someone with less experiance might learn something from me too. I bought this kit over the labor day weekend from my local hobby shop. He is usually incredibly overpriced, but he was running a holiday sale, so I bought it.
Following the rules, you can see it's a new unbuilt kit:

I cleaned all the cockpit parts and painted with black primer. I like the black primer to start creating shadows.

This is the one and only Model Air paint I use. It clogs the airbrush, but I love the color.

I love the look of the green over the black primer. Once the green drys, I will start detail painting.

Tamiya's 1/48 Corsairs are absolute beauties. Looks like you're off to a good start with the cockpit. Lots of lovely detail to pick out.

This was my first experience with Ardcoat for the glass gauges. It came out nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. I'm a paint snob, so it's okay.

Canopy in interior green and primed cowl flaps. I painted the engine cowl white in preparation for the yellow top coat. The entire paint job on the engine cowl ended up a disaster. It's currently soaking in alcohol. We'll see what happens.

Prop and creep marks.
My marks usually are sharper. I don't know why the paint bled. Maybe the paint was too thin.
I love the way the prop came out.

The Model Air is usually a pain, but I love, love, love this color. I'm so glad I ordered it. It's a perfect FS match to Glossy Sea Blue.
