1/72 Tamiya Bell X-1

Post by LTmodelmaking »

Hi, everyone!
This looks like a perfect GB to get my mojo going again. A quick and simple build. I like it.

Time for an update. Painted and installed the cockpit. It's rather basic but not much of it will be seen when finished.

Glued everything inside the fuselage. This kit doesn't have locator pins but it's not a big deal because the fuselage is so small and the internal parts provide enough guidance. I didn't build the full interior because I won't be using the clear fuselage. Only glued the oxygen tank because there's a steel ball that's provided in the kit that goes these so the plane would not be a tail sitter.
The kit's tooling isn't up to date and the panel lines are basically non-existent. I tried rescribing the right side of the fuselage today. Here's a comparison. I did rescribe a few lines on the left side.

Sweet! This is my choice as well. I'm not using the clear parts either so the interior gets a lot easier! :th:
