Re: FAA Airfix 1/72nd Sea King
Funny to have my head buried in the build yesterday and totally miss the drama unfolding with the Photobucket jerks. Didn't realize something was up until Dan showed my dead pic link in the live show
I had made a reveal thread early just so I wouldn't have any stress and could drop the finished pictures into a completed thread....nope. We shall see what unfolds with that company, you know a big backlash is coming.
So anyhow am still banging away at her. I took some in progress shots Thursday night of threading the SMD LED's through the pylons with dental floss . It pulled off one of the 0.12 mm wires off the back of the 2mm long light
I managed to do some microsurgery soldering and re attatched the wire to the LED and it worked!!!
So much better with photos but Flickr is a slow go for me at the moment
Forgot some handles, pitot tubes, tie downs etc etc so am adding those and will make an attempt at posting the Sea King all lit up.
Definitely some wind taken from my sails with all the drama
guys if you followed along, I greatly appreciate it

Re: FAA Airfix 1/72nd Sea King
We have lights!!!

Tail light...my red led not in from China yet so I literally just coloured the led and the acrylic top with a red Sharpie felt pen

Pontoons and rear light on

She is really all done up now with some light weathering and dry brushing on rotors. These birds were kept very clean by their operators and I am pleased to show a reasonably tidy version of one
My wiring needs a bit of work for tidiness, but I am very happy with my results of these tiny SMD LED's
