1/144 FineMolds Millennium Falcon Final Reveal

Post by Coen »

So it looks like I'm the first one to do a reveal... crap.
I wonder what that means?

Anyway here's my reveal of my 1/144 FineMolds Millennium Falcon.
Her big sister is still kicking around here somewhere and one day will grace my ceiling.
This little girl will soon be off to her new home at my buddy Dave's house.

I had considered posting a tonne of pictures but they all sorta looked the same. So after 5 attempts to get a video to be approved by youtube (it doesn't like Star Wars music in any format) I did a slide show.

TaDa!!!!!

Wow she looks awesome Michael, the weatheing and shading looks spot on.
I love the exhaust marks around the coolers on the top (is that what they are ?)
The canopy although black was a necessary measure so to speak, I like it, I think it gives it a more serious appearance.

Brilliant job

PS: youtube is a bit funny about music, all you have to do is say in your description what it is, who its by and you could also put a link to where you can buy it from. Loads of guys have star wars tunes on their vids.
There can be only one!
Unless your building two, or three, or four - ah to hell with it.

Gorgeous, gorgeous piece of Falcon sir....
You are a Jedi master in the falcon building profession and even Chewie I think would ride co-pilot in that build my friend... :th:
I myself am nothing more than a padawan.... A learner in the building of models...
.... I think I'm gonna burn my solar car now as I think we got a winner right here chaps... ;)
Well done Michael sir, you have worked some magic on this... Can't wait to see the big girl get the treatment...

Thanks Guys.
An Wappy... not a chance dude... you are the scratch master... I am the padawan.
No worries there dude. I just knocked together a kit... you built the kit.
There's a huge difference there buddy :th: :th: : :

She was a bit of a labour of love in a few small ways, but not enough to ever call her a lemon.
I would very highly recommend this kit to any sci-fi fan (Lee) really.
The 1/72 is a booger of a price at $200+/- US so this is a perfect trade off and it fits almost anywhere.
The detail is almost the same and it's fantastic.

I tried all sorts of different ways to upload the vid. The only way they'd allow it is with a medley of 4 - 6 second snips. That was all that was allowed.
I hated the sound of it so I went with some of my own classical collection which they seem to think was fine.
Oh well. One day it will all be free or they'll just tax our farts.

Nah as long as you don't monetise it you should be ok, all you have to do is tick that you acknowledge that it's not your music when they ask you.

Copyright only comes into it if you try and earn money from it or claim that it is your work (youtube defaults to claiming that everything in your videos is your own work) which is why a note in the description sorts it out, done it on a few of mine.

Did it on this one first

They didn't even give me an option.
The acknowledge button was always greyed out.
Even with all different notes in the description.
After 5 tries I got annoyed and walked.
It is what it is. :th:

Just beautiful work, mate! I can just imagine a scoundrel and a Wookie looking over your shoulder during the build - “No, no, NO. THIS one goes THERE, THAT one goes THERE.” :th:

Just beautiful....
One thing tho.....
You gotta " light " the big girl......
Those engines and cockpit are crying out for something....
Have you ever lit a build Mike?
Even at this 1/144 scale I think some blue LED's behind that engine grill would have rocked... :thumb1:
Anyways she is still a cracking bit of spice smuggling goodness, lit or not.....
Fantastic, just awesome..:    :
Weathering is 1st class mate..

Thanks Andy,
I've never lite one no. It's in the plans for the future though.
I would have to take the 1/144 apart to light her up now.
It's the 1/72 I'm planing on lighting.
I have a nice cheap little light set on order from Micro Mark that I'm going to use.
It's mostly for the engines though. I don't think that the cockpit would light up very well, it's really tiny in there. I also have Han, Chewy, Luke, Ben, and Leia in there. I may yet put a small light in the top rear of the cockpit just so you can see a bit.
That's a little ways off yet though. I want to get through a few of the projects that I've got on the go now, then I'll have more time.
