Chrome Waterslide Decals

Post by Warlock40 »

Hi all,

I've just got a LB productions AMG decal set, and it comes with chrome waterslide decals - does anyone have any experience with these? They are an entirely new concept to me - my mind was blown when I saw them.

Just wondering if they handle different to normal ones, and whether there a way to knock back the shine?

Will Ultimate decal solutions work on them without tarnishing the finish?

Thanks

Not a car builder and have never seen them, but is there a bit that isn't used you could test it out on ?

I havent used them but Ive used similar things. As digger said, test a bit first. You can very lightly rub any fine abrasive material over any shiny surface to reduce the shine, like a very worn fine grit sanding pad etc. even a standard tissue can do the job. A very thin satin clear would also cut the shine. The decal solution - you would again test a bit in an invisible spot. If you do paint it first, the decal solution wont touch the decal, so should be fine.
Test it first...Good luck
