It's Finished.

The windscreen was a nightmare. Ended up with a tiny drop of super glue gel on a few of the rivets - which were not long enough for a mechanical attachment. A very tenuous attachment, but if it comes off I still have the mold to make another windscreen and I will use longer rivets or pin head and attach it properly.

Will take some final proper photos during the next week to show everyone.
Thanks for all the kind words. The model would not be as good if I had not posted the wip here. And my next one, whenever that is, will be even better.

Absolutely top notch 👍
The fact that you've achieved this without an airbrush, only paintbrush and rattle can.

Very nice work! The windscreen looks great with the rivets.

I agree, posting here raises the level of difficulty I attempt with my models. I've attempted techniques that I thought I would never try because they were so "advanced" in my mind. It's totally worth trying to push harder. You're never going to improve if you don't try.

Hi all.

Here are the photos of the finished model.

You can view big size images on Imgur here - www.imgur.com/gallery/DTJJGnn

Or scroll down to see them on this site.

Hope you enjoy. Was a pleasure to build and photograph and share with this community, and the Imgur community, who were also great in their interaction.

Thanks for looking.

Nice. I tried a 1/12 1980 Tamiya Ferrari when I was a teenager, and I dont even think I could finish it. It was beyond me.
Ebbro make a nice kit.

Have a look at this guy - mind-blowing, and I mean Mind Blowing, detail on the 1/12 Tamiya Tyrrell:

I wonder if he builds or has some tie-up with top studio as he has also built the FW-14b WITH the engine set that wont be available till the middle of november.

Has to be some of the cleanest builds anywhere. Just stunning !!!!!

Hello everyone,
I just joined this forum and so much info I can really use. I bought the Ferrari 641/12 Tamiya Vintage Selection about a month ago. When it came time to assemble the tires, whoops they are absolutely not usable. I have searched Hiro and no luck. Any suggestions.

Hmm
I seem to remember aftermarket tires.
Maybe do an eBay search. I am pretty sure they have rain tires with grooves as well

Edit: A couple options

I found some MFH ones too but they are a fortune !!!

As Scott said - have a good look on ebay. Its an old kit, so if you do find something it will unfortunately not be cheap.

WOW!~ Nice work on the Ferrari!

I have all the Tamiya, Heller, Italeri, Protar F1 kits, but I have not built that one just yet. Your build gives me great insight into the kit and something to shoot for; thanks for sharing it with us.

I also have the Tyrrell kit so I'll be watching with interest on it as well.

GOOD JOB!

Didn't expect so much response, thanks to all. Update, seller agreed to refund if I ship it back to them. They sent a return label and I contacted eBay and they confirmed. I appreciate all the feedback for locating the tires in mention. I haven’t decided which course I will take. It’s a shame as the car is totally built. Guess I could get the refund and purchase another model of same quality. Thoughts?

I was surprised also. I explained to them and eBay the kit was built except for tyres. I boxed it up and away it went. eBay told me if he seller doesn’t comply they would take care of it. Time will tell how this goes. Stay tuned.

Believe it or not I received my full payment from the seller in JP. Credited my CC account. My new effort arrived today, Tyrrell 003. The kit came in 100% condition, like new. Will start next week on the build.
