krusty's eduard P-400

Post by krusty69 »

hi all long time no post. but i've been watching  just waiting for a group build. out of all the subjects it had to be the 2nd world war. my last two builds were a tamiya stuart, and a magic factory f4u.

not a lot left in the stash but i did find this hiding in the back. a 1\48 eduard p-400, has some interesting paint choices. the one that i picked is from guadalcanal, the lack of parts led to some interesting rebuilding. the plane was confiscated from a order that was headed for england, which explains the british camo. this plane was rebuilt with a wing from another wrecked plane. which is why one wing has different colors.

well thank's for looking

hey guys making some good progress, cockpit and most small parts have been primed and painted. i picked up a couple of bottles of ammo of mig atom paint and this is my first time using it. so far i'm pretty impressed, nice finish, seems tolerant of thinner ratios. i'm going to pick up a few more bottles and keep testing it.

thanks for looking

Very nice work.

What's the story behind the wing being a different color? I can see it in the instructions, I just wondered why?

hey stokesy the story i'm getting is early on guadalcanel there was no spare parts or replacement aircraft, that the ground crews had to get very creative keeping aircraft in the air.allright i've got decaling to do, and i just turned on iron sky, space nazis from the dark side of the moon, what a story line :eeek:

Does it help if you put a few more coats on with regards to the decal solutions burning through ?
Chipping is working well, looks great without being over done.

coming on a treat! its not a subject you see very often and I think you've done it full justice, looking forward to the finish line.

I agree with using the markers, I use them often particularly if its just a small area as you can still use a fine brush to take paint off the point, so much easier than hunting for a tin, mixing etc!
