Dragon 1/144 Naval Air Refueling - Twin Set

Post by DC87 »

Here lie the pics for the final reveal of my entry into this Cold War GB - LOTS OF PICS BELOW

Originally this was meant to take just a weekend or two but the kit decided to fight me the whole way but to say I am pleased with the end result would be the understatement of the century    - the kits decals are superb and together with a scratchbuilt boom the kit delivers a stunning diorama in my opinion - but hey it's not my opinion that counts .... what do you fine modellers think?

It will now take pride of place on my shelf - which is rather barren and bare as this is the first kit I have completed since joining ISM.

ENJOY:

PS - I know this scene wouldn't happen as they would land to refuel this close to the carrier but I couldn't resist showing a fleet battle group :thumb2:

Awesome build!!!!!!!!!!

btw: The KA-6 was known as "Texico" would nurse a battle damaged or a aircraft w/ mechanical problems back to the carrier if a land based airfield was not an option, it would then be determined to try a arrested landing on deck or for the crew to eject and be picked via the rescue helo,

Excellent work Dan, like that a lot!!! :th: :th:

Followed this build from the start, so I know some of the troubles that you've had, but it has turned out really well. Love the setting and the painting and weathering is excellent - and in 1/144 scale! :eeek:

top class work! :cheers2:
