I was going to use this truck in a diorama, but that plan fell through, so I decided to just build it OOB and try out some techniques on it. One was paint chipping, and the DAK paint scheme provided the best opportunity to try it out. I painted it German gray first, then sealed the gray coat with Krylon Satin Acrylic varnish. Next was the dunkelgelb (well, actually, I use Folk Art acrylic craft paints, so the real name is "buttercup"

) that I just sprayed on over the gray. Using an old, stiff paintbrush I scrubbed over the dunkelgelb, which revealed the gray underneath. I did the same to the fuel drums in the truck's bed, but I could have saved myself the effort as only the outer drums are visible.
And the second technique was making a tissue paper tarp. I really like how it turned out, and it was actually easier than I thought it would be. The rope is made from crochet thread I got from the craft store; I dipped it in a water/white glue mix to give it a more "rope" look.
I'm not sure if I'm going to use this in a diorama or anything. I don't have any DAK figures at the moment or even any other vehicles, so for now it's just a shelf-sitter.
