I've still got to get my entry! There's nothing in my LHC applicable except a 1/48 Jagdpanther.  I prefer 1/35 and I'm looking for a Dragon or Tamiya Jagdpanther instead.... but I may end up with a "normal" Panther.... We'll see :D :D :D

I'm 80% sure I'll be in this SIG as I should have only have a couple of T-34s and a PaK gun for both the Kursk and FOTR GBs on the bench at that time :D I'll find the time as I REALLY WANNA DO A JAGDPANTHER

The Panther was my first "favorite" German tank, so I think I have to try to enter this as well. I didn't think I'd have time, but if I have until September I can give it whirl.

Image

I plan to do this relatively out of the box. Photo etch grills for sure, but I think that's it. I used the parts for the late exhaust and heater fan for my current Panther as it was an early G and I wanted it to be a late G. So I'll build this as an early jagdpanther, without zimmerit. I read somewhere that if a Jagdpanther had a "stepped" barrel it could be an early without zim, so that's what I'll do. Mostly because I don't like the idea of doing zim.

On that subject, as a lot of people are about to do Panther models I thought I'd offer up to give to someone that needs it; the Eduard photo-etch zimmerit set that came with my Tamiya Panther G. I decided it was beyond my skill level and bought the Dragon kit with molded on zim like literally the next day, so I'd be happy to send that photo-etch set to someone doing a Tamiya (or other if it fits) Panther G for the SiG.

Although I plan to do the Jagdpanther I thought I'd post my Panther stash. The Tamiya G only has a few hours work in on the suspension. I wish I'd have waited, would have had 3 Panthers to choose from. The Tamiya G and Dragon are both early G's with Zim, so I'm making the Tamiya one a late G. So the late exhausts, heater fan, chin mantlet and such will all be taken from the Jagdpanther kit to make a late G. I'll also move the barrel cleaning tube thing to the rear deck.

I could however take the late G parts from the Dragon kit and make a G2 Jagdpanther. Just don't really like those giant exhaust pipes.

Image

I am pretty sure the Dragon one will be exactly as it is depicted on the box. Early G with shrouded two pipe exhaust. That kit comes with multiple exhaust/deck fan options as well, but I haven't made a concrete plan yet. probably just the standard no heater flat deck, and barrel cleaning bit on the side.

On more than one occasion I almost snapped up that Premium Panther D kit (6299) as well. I want at least one D and A in my collection. Does anyone happen to know off hand which Panthers had those obscenely large fenders on the front, and if that is on any kit? I assume it's the Panther D, but I've never seen a kit with those included as far as I can tell.

I'm pretty stoked, my first SiG or GB of any kind. Bought a barrel last night even though i said I'd try and go out of the box. If it doesn't start soon I'll probably end up with AM tracks....seriously this is an addictive hobby.

The Full Monty:

Image

I've had the kit for 2 months now, I had to snap it up on ebay as this kit was rare and disappearing fast (there is one up for auction now, but the dragon-tracks have been replaced with smart-tracks)

So many choices

Tough one....i'd like to see how the Dragon A goes together, but the Tamiya G would be a bit easier build. Depends on how many builds you have going i suppose.

I am interested in entering this SIG but I will have to start late because of exams, I will probably only be started by July when hopefully I will have a kit. However I am not 100% sure I will be able to participate, I will let you know ASAP when I make my decision.
Hopefully this is ok guys and I look forward to it :D

I'm pretty sure it's all there, just don't like the fact it's obviously been opened and rifled through when they said it was BNIB!

I'm in on this one and this will be my first group build. After delving into the stash I found I have 5 Panthers, Italeri 1/35th bergpanther, Dragon "G" jagd panther, and 1 each of Dragon's "A", "D" and "G" model panthers. Problem is I have started 3 of them so I'm left with either the "A" model or the "G" model jagdpanther. So I'm going with "A" model. I have aset of Fruilmodel tracks and an alloy barrel. I will get some PE zimmerit rather than taxing my skills with putty zimmerit. I'm hoping to do a 2nd Panzer divison unit from around July 1944 just before the division got caught in the Falaise Pocket and was destroyed. All I have to do now is find some pictures with a legible turret number.

I will be joining this SIG in about two weeks. I'll get a "PzBeobWg V Ausf.G", or a
"PanzerBeobachtungsWagen V Ausfuhrung G" in 1/72 from Dragon.
