Time to update the thread, less than three days to go until the end :eeek:

The SUV was fully assembled and prepped for weathering. The original plan was to fix the doors in the closed position but for some reason they did not fit in place. The door bowed out in the centre as though it was to big to fit in the gap. I decided to fix them in an open position l, one being slightly more open than the other.

This was then weathered the same was as the other car using the AK dust and dirt deposits.

Both abandoned vehicle's on the dio
Image

The dumpster was chipped using some chipping colour from Mig using a sponge. I then applied a dark wash also from Mig. I applied some light dust using the AK dust and dirt deposits to the top.
Image

I saw a video were someone made some garbage bags using real garbage bags on Facebook so decided to give it a go and make some for the dio. The video was on War-paint facebook page see link below.

Staring off with cutting a strip from along the edge of a bag and then cutting it in to a small section son the base is folded.
Image

The next using a lighter to seal the two edges leaving the top open to form a bag. Tiny bits of paper are then rolled into balls and placed in the bags to fill them.
Image

The tops are then twisted and secured to close up the bags.
Image

These were then glued to the dio near the dumpster at the end of the building. I also added an air con unit to the side of the building. This is from M.A.I.M. It's a resin part with a PE grills. This was painted yellow and then chipped and given a wash. I then drilled four holes in the back and fixed four pieces of wire in them with CA glue. This was then pushed through the foam on the side and secured with some CA glue.
Image

I got back to the Meng F-350 and fitted some accessories to the cab. There's a backpack, water canteen and some water bottles from Meng. I also added a magazine and map these were images from Google which were scaled down and printed out. I gave the interior a wash using Ammo US modern vehicle's wash and some of the AK dust and dirt deposits on the floor. Nothing special as the interior will not be that visible when the body is on and weathering done.
Image

I also added some stowage to the back of the bed. All of this is from the Meng set SPS-014 equipment for modern US vehicle's

The body was then fitted in place along with the rest of the parts all of which fitted with no problems at all.

Now to do the weathering and get cracking with the figures.
Thank you for looking :thumb1:

The end is nigh and now it's time for the last update before the final reveal pics

Carrying on with the Meng pickup, this was fully assembled and then given a wash with the Mig us modern vehicle's wash. This was applied all over and then mostly removed with cotton buds dampened with thinner, leaving some in the panel lines and recesses. I then masked of the windscreen roughly where the windscreen wipers would clear and then applied some AK interactive dust and dirt deposits with the airbrush. This was applied all over very light on the roof and getting heavier towards the bottom.

The side windows were cleaned off afterwards with a cotton bud dampened with thinner leaving some of the dust around the edges.

I applied leaves and some static grass tufts around the base. The leaves were fixed in place with a spot of pva and each one placed individually. The grass tufts were cut up on to smaller tufts and stuck down using the self adhesive backing.
Image

Image

I also added some more crates, bottles and some rats around the dumpster. The rats and crates are from Matho models and the beer bottles from Meng.
Image

All the figures I used are from M.A.I.M. I assembled all the figures including the ones from the Masterbox set but did not use all of them.
All the M.A.I.M figures were resin cast and weready fairly straight forward to assemble with little clean up. Some of the figures are alot better in terms of detail than others but all build up into a fairly decent figure. They were all fixed together with CA glue.
Image

Some of the assembled figures. I drilled small holes into one of the feet on each figure and glued a short piece of wire in it. I then put the figures on to corks to make painting easier.
Image

The three survivors I will be using. These were all painted in white primer and then hand painted using paint from Andrea color for the flesh and Vallejo model colour. They were then given a wash using Vallejo game colour ink Sepia 72.091.
Image

The Zombie figures were primed the same. For the base flesh colour I used Vallejo game color 72.035 dead flesh. I then painted all the clothing in various Vallejo model colors. I then used Vallejo model colour 70.859 black Red for any cuts, torn skin and blood stains. These were all given a wash using the game color Sepia.
Image

That's about all I've got until the final reveal. Now to get some good pics.

Thank you for looking :th:
