Still looks mighty fine and you're so close to the finish.

It was designed not to fit properly and give you a bad feeling and headache everytime you try and put it together :wall: :wall: . Its your skills as a modeler that have got you this far so stick at it and you will get there
Both valid sentiments about this build. :wall:
I don't know HOW I'm going to re-paint the lower half of the fuselage without destroying the decal. At least I can fix the other side before I add the stripe.

Keep at it and it will come together. I will say though for a small kit with a minimum of parts it is causing some amount of havoc.

Man this thing is fighting back even by Airfix 1960's standards!

Keep at it - you'll find a way to beat it into submission... or drop it into a pool of sharks...

You've got more patience than I mate, it's being built kicking and screaming :th:

Photographing my models for display really shows up how bad I can build! This thing looks like it crashed and was re-built. Badly.
Anyway - more work trying to fix the rotten paint / decal alignment on the fuselage. Also some other bits glued on to show some progress!

Since these first two shots were taken I've worked on the seam between the decal and silver paint a bit more.

It didn't drive me there - but it did lock the doors and drive away.

It's looking great! Way to stick with it. I would have trashed it long ago.

Got to commend your dedication to the build sir - I would have screamed and gone for a LOT of beers a while ago. The perseverance is paying off though and you are turning what was a mediocre kit into a first class build. Congratulations!! :) L)

Your perseverance is starting to pay off DBM, it's definitely inching along in the right direction.

But as Scott said it's starting to give concerns for your sanity!

The only reasons I'm finishing this kit are that I don't know if I'll be able to get another and "You Only Live Twice" was the first Bond film I saw at the theater. I want to see Little Nellie on my shelf - even if I growl at it when I do.

This will be the last update before I 'finish' this thing.
Have you ever really, really wanted a build to go well? Looked at a kit and said 'hardly any parts - I can finish this in no time and it won't give me any fits!"
Have you ever gotten into that build and nothing seems to go right?
This kit should have been easy. Sure the instructions are bad. Sure the kit is old and not too well engineered. But there were like only 20 parts - how bad could it be?
I'm not a great builder. I don't build regularly. But, damn, what happened here?
:wall:

Anyway, here are some photos.

I did manage to put new rear tires on my rider mower. So that's something.

:thumb2:   It looks right so it must be right. :eeek: :eeek: Sometimes doing nostalgia builds has a habit of kicking you very hard in the nostalgia unless your 1st build was a Tamiya kit and then it will always go right :bash: :bash:

That really is a great result from the random collection of parts you started with - have you binned the pilot or will he be wedged in for the reveal?

Superb work and perseverance all around to get that into the shape you have

Oh, the pilot! I forgot about him in all my self loathing! May as well go all in.

If you didn't see the other thread already I've decided to call time on this one for the end of July so please get some reveal photos up by then either with or without Mr. Bond in place.
