Both are really interesting ideas Colin.
Paul has the best set of tools and chemicals that I know of for doing a how-to on decals.
If he hasn't already made a video I'm certain that he'd make one if he's got some time.

The second is something that you could pose to Lee and Paul, it's your idea buddy, and a good one at that.

Colin wrote:Quick suggestion here, was looking to see if there was a dedicated Decal part in the reference section to ask about something but don't see it, decaling is a fairly dark art in its own right in the hobby and one of my weak points for sure ... I realise too you could get bogged down in separate topics but perhaps this one could be relevant?

One more ... this is more a member fun one I see done annually on other forums where members get to vote for their kit of the year, it could be in category like overall kit, best aircraft, best armour and so on, obviously this could not take place until January but that's only just over 3.5 months away now ... just a thought.

:cheers2:
Both good ideas Colin, I'll discuss them with lee :th:

One thing that I have noticed is in relation to the ISM youtube videos at start up. The sound of the music is really loud compared to the voice on the videos. It is the same effect as the adverts on the tv which is designed to keep people awake or to force them to keep adjusting the sound. I got a good ear bashing off the missus when I switched videos and forgot to lower the sound at midnight :D

Probably no way of adjusting these things anyway.

If you used a mega speaker you could get ISM or Ultimate on it

Would it be possible to allow us who upload photos directly from the computer to post more than 3 at at time? Just asking politely.. :D

You can't upload directly from your computer, but you can embed them from a photbucket account.
Here's the how to.

Well Coen, I CAN upload them from the computer, but only three at a time, which is my issue.. Would be good if they allowed more! :)

As for Photobucket, my account there is full, so can't add any more pictures to that website. Otherwise I would have used it.. quite happily!

I take it you're using the 'attachment' function at the bottom of the page? I used that before I got photobucket. It's a bit of a bugger isn't it! I heard that you can just make a new photobucket account, just register with a new email address.

Rob - I'm pretty sure you can do three per post. Just post three pictures then reply to your post with another three mate, so on and so forth :th:

TBH I hate embedded pictures and would prefer it if everyone used an online source. Embedding them not only slows the server down, but it's very hard to get good sizes and lift them for the reveal vids :D

Well, I'll have to keep posting in small portions.. I'm a patient man, me.. :)

If I can get 'Photobucket' sorted, I will use that again anyway.. at least I know now what the problem is! :) Thanks for the info.. :)

Hello Paul & Lee; I have one suggestion to make. I was wondering if the kit reviews done on the videos could also be incorporated with a build of that same kit. It's one thing to have a good or perhaps not so good review of a kit, but also how well the model goes together. Those two things are determining factors whether I would want to lay down 50 to 70 dollars on a model. The presenter of the video can still give the viewer a critique of both aspects, thnx. By the way,you guys have a great site I thoroughly enjoy it.....Dave

Hi all, the new layout looks cool but I find I do not visit the site so much since the "view latest posts" or similar has disappeared from the options available.

Hi Guys

I just joined the site, and I did so because of the great videos I've seen on Youtube and because of the honest approach Lee and Paul take to reviews, and for the hours and days of truly helpful advice you've given us for free. You guys are doing us all a great service, and I hope you keep at it for a long time.

Thanks again guys, you are an inspiration.

With best wishes

Steve

P.S. I have Trumpeter's 1/16 Panzer IV Ausf H in my stash. I need to a finish a few projects and then that one will loom large! I'm hoping to find some great advice and tips here from members too.

I know that there's a few fellas here that have that monster pz IV in their stash. There's at least one build in progress here on the forum.
So lots of interest in that kit :)
Totally agree with ya about Lee and Paul too. You couldn't have come to a better place :th: :th: :th:

Guys,

From a newbie perspective I would like to see a colour chart/reference mentioned pls for each model that members build - irrespective of the brand of paint used.

I have mainly Val and Tam but quite a few models do not have this call out and anyway it would be good to see what others use.

I know that there is an app for colour conversion but that is what it is -

Thank you

Hi Coen

Thanks for heads-up on Panzer IV builds. Mine won't start until the Autumn I think, but I'll check out who's doing what.

Have a great day

A comment about the interface. I wouldn´t mind if it was a link to: "Your post", on the top right corner under the user's name. When i click on the cursor icon in order to get to back to the top I find it bit inconvenient, having to go all the way to the "Quick links" (on the left) to find: Your post. I whizz a lot back and forth to "Your post"-list and it would be easier with a short cut. Just a thought.
