A4D-5 (A-4E) Skyhawk 151113 VA-212 1967 Vietnam war cruise

VA-212 conducted the 1st Walleye flight over Vietnam. On March 11, 1967:
The Rampant Raider's commanding officer, Commander Homer L. Smith, conducted the first Walleye combat attack, striking the Sam Son Army Barracks, in a A-4E Skyhawk from deck of the USS Bon Homme Richard with a pair of Walleye.


VA-212's 1967 Vietnam deployment started on January 26, 1967, ended on August 25, 1967

This is A4D-5 (A-4E) Skyhawk 151113. This aircraft was shot down on 31 May 1967 near Kep near Bac Giang, NV.

this kit is the 1/32 Trumpeter A-4E

Nice work! Looks like a hard working little hot rod. Those navy boys didn't go in much for low visibility markings back then, did they?

thanks for the comments guys !! it was a fun build, great kit everything went together well. the only issue i had was with the decals. Also, if I wanted to make a closed canopy, the canopy was a bad fit when seated on the cockpit side walls.
