Hi guys and girls
So here is the final reveal for 1 of my entries in this sig
I made the Eduard MiG-21 PFM profi pack
I picked the North Vietnamese airforce version for this build
Mainly because i bought the kit to place next to my F-4B Phantom from the Jolly Rogers wich is from the same era and place
There is a good possibility that these 2 planes actually fought eachother as the Jolly rogers where assigned to bomb the same area that this MiG was assignes to protect
But because of 2 large builds at the time of the Vietnam gb i ran out of time to build this kit back then
This sig was was a good reason to build it now and that was the only excuse i needed
But without further ado ,here is my MiG-21 PFM
And that is all i have for this build
I hope you like it
Thanks for stopping by and having a look
Untill next time
Cheers
Mark

Thank you very much
It really was a nice kit to build allthough i did loose most of the static dischargers wich are a wee bit fragile

Thank you very much Tommy
I think master is a bit too much but i do enjoy building planes
I just didn't build them for a long time
I was focussed on armor for a coupe of years and only did armor
Nothing else
But i did start with planes but at that time all i could get where Revell kits
They wheren't bad but it was all i knew at the time

Superb job. I have this one and don't know if I have the balls to do that cam scheme although I'd like to!

Thank you
The camo really isn't that difficult
Because i used alclads i could remove any mistake i made
I used some Ultimate thinner on the spots that where too thick or had any other problem
The Aqueous paint will become liquid again and then you can whipe it off with some paper towel or toilet paper
Once the spots where done i started to mist the plane with the same green as the spots
But if you happen to make a mistake it can be solved without a lot of effort
And the kit itself is really nice to build too
When i was half way through this build i already ordered another Eduard MiG-21

Thanks for the tips Mark, I may give that cam scheme a go when I get round to building it. I also have the 'Sundowners' F4 in the stash and like you, I thought they would go well together.

A little bit of luck i had was in the background of my Phantom
The VF-84 Jolly Rogers where in action in the same region as this MiG was stationed
But i think it is always nice to put 2 adversaries together

Thank you Chief
The SMT i have will be a camouflaged one though
I made enough metal finished planes for a while
With this one ,the Sabre and 4 MiG-15's i already have 6 nmf planes in this year
The Eduard MiG-21 kits are very nice and you can even get more stuff for them
But i don't think i will be building the smt soon
I want to finish the stuff that i am building at the moment and i haven't decided wich kit is next

Thank you very much John
It was a really enjoyable build
Much better then the Sabre but in my opinion even one of the best plane kits i ever made (the kit anyway)
There where no bad fits and there is no filler on it what so ever
The only thing i didn't like where the stencil data decals
But i don't like large amounts of decals so that is more my problem then the kit
The kit is just very complete and i would recommend it to all modellers who like planes or just want to build a plane
Maybe a beginner would like a weekend edition more because of the photo etch in the profi packs but the styrene parts on their own are just good
Resin and pe are nice for extra detail but i don't think they are a must have for this kit
And for the price they are even better
Most other MiG-21 kits in this scale cost more and the SMT profi pack is the most expensive one i could find and that still only cost me 34 euro's at a shop so let's 24 to 26 pounds for the UK guys
And that comes with even more goodies then this one
I even ordered that one before i finished this kit so that must mean i like them
Cheers

Nice to see a Vietnamese Mig-21 in a dirtied up version of NMF. It makes for a nice change in this SIG so great job on the effort put in mate.
As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.

Thank you very much
I really had to take a look at reference pics for this one
In real life the Vietnamese MiG's where pretty dirty but that was a bit hard to see as most photo's still where in black and white
But that is what you get from flying over jungles and having a airfield in them
