Tamiya GB SAS Landrover

Post by Les0012 »

Ok I have bitten the bullet and going to have a go at a GB.

I have decided to do the SAS Landrover (Pink Panther), I won't bother with the history as Wavelet has already put it up in his post and it's just so as not to bore members with the same sort of post.

The instructions are the usual black and white that you get with Tamiya,

I won't fill up the board with the same sort of photo but you get the idea, So it's on with the build now and I hope I can make a worth job for my first GB build.

Thanks Les

Completed stage 1 of the Landy. Have decided that I will do this one in dark green as there is already a pink one on the go. Just a wee bit of tidying up then onto stage 2

So that's the prop shaft placed, went together fairly well, Primed in Ultimate black and then Tamiya XF-61 Dark Green with the gear box in Tamiya XF-56 Metallic Grey.

Looking forward to getting stuck into this one

Not going to get much,if anything done today as I have to take cars of some family matters then go to work in the afternoon.

So where did I leave the Landy yesterday, Wheels are on,duckboards in the back painted in XF-79 Linoleum Deck Brown and a bit of XF-1 flat black sprayed on freehand.

The kit seems to going together very nicely for my limited skills.

Still a long way to go but it's getting there

Morning All<

This is where I left the Landrover last night, She has some of the equipment on and has been given a gloss coat with Hannants Xtracrylics varnish.

The weapons, mounts and tools I have started to paint and will hopefully get that done and on today then it a case of a bit of light weathering (I hope).

The sand mats I primed with Ultimate Black then put on a chrome silver followed by AK heavy chipping solution and then the dark green and gave it a stipple with a fairly hard brush. First time I have attempted this so hoping it looks OK.

Last update for this build, all I have left to do is give it a weather with an undecided Ultimate and wait for a base to take the final reveal shots.

Here's a couple of shots of the pre weathered Landy.

Been a quick build (must have to much time on my hands) and enjoyable. Time for another on me thinks
