Chiefs 1/48 7 ton armoured car.

Post by chief5437 »

Another one started while waiting for stuff to dry!

A look in the box.

Sadly it only comes with decals for one Polish option :pistols: but as its oob, that's what I'll use.

A few hours later....

This little kit is amazing, everything fits perfectly, as you would expect from a new tamiya kit I suppose.

Only the smallest of seam lines to remove from the tyres. Just a light pass with a Ultimate sander got rid of those.

Ultimate black primer done.

Then a coat of vma Armour Green, followed by some highlights with the same but with a few drops of light grey added.

And that's it for now. Really enjoying this one! Thanks for looking guys :cheers2:

Looking good. These 1/48 kits are a blast to build.

Another one that's been done for a while!

Got the details painted.

Then it was a gloss coat of alclad aqua gloss.

Image

Followed by a pin wash of brown.

Image
Image

Not sure about these Ammo washes yet. I've got a few and they seem great fresh. But I've noticed some separation after a while, and they don't seem to 'run' quite so well. More testing required I think?

Decals next, should've done this before the wash but there aren't many so didn't really matter, lol!

Image

After sealing that lot with another gloss coat, I did some oil dot work.

Image

Image

Then I used more oils to try some 'water like streaking'. I also weathered the wheels with a mix of Ultimate washes.

Image

So that's that. after assembling the final parts I gave it all another Matt coat and put it on a little temporary base I had made for a dingo a while back. Pics in the reveal section.

Thanks for looking guys :cheers2: :th:
