Canvas tents and bed rolls

Hi guy's,

Can anyone point me in the direction on how to make(tutorials or books) Canvas tent fabric and bed rolls, I'd like to try to make my own , but I can't think of anything around the house that looks like canvas on the miniature scale

Any help would be great.

Tissue paper soaked in diluted white glue. Spread out to dry. Then cut, paint, roll. Try it for a cheap alternative.

You can also try fine denier tights as well. If stretched slightly over a frame and painted it makes convincing canvas.
