Thumboy's Zero Eggplane

Post by Thumboy »

Hi chaps, here are the final reveal photos of my entry into the Easter eggplane SIG the Mitsubishi Zero. For all the info and my journey through this build please check out my build thread. I have to say this was a very nice little kit and great break from the norm. there were a lot of firsts for me on this build. Its the first time I have attempted the hairspray technique using AK heavy chipping fluid which worked a bit too well as most of the green top coat came off  . then my first time using maskol which worked very well and I found I had good control of the chipping. It is also the first time I have masked most of the decals - the only ones I used were the identification number on the tail and the three stripes on the landing gear covers. and I almost forgot it was my first time rescribing panel lines, its much harder than it looks but well worth the effort and I will not be so scared to do it again in the future (most things can be fixed with filler :thumb1: ) also my first time working with a resin after market cockpit which although it isn't seen much does add a lot of detail to the standard kit.

Thanks to everyone that followed the build and I am looking forward catching up with everyone else's cracking little eggplanes, I have been so busy lately I haven't had any time to follow your builds as closely as I would like :cheers2:

hope you enjoy the photos
