Chiefs 1/35 gepard
This will be my next entry, been wanting to build one of these ever since I saw Lee build one on his video. Classic Tamiya

A fine kit mate, specially when you consider how old it is
Where does all the bloody time go.....?
Re: Chiefs 1/35 gepard
Hopefully it'll turn out half as good as yours did, I thought the minimal weathering really suited it

Re: Chiefs 1/35 gepard
Hi fellas
Got a bit done here. First some box shots.
Two sets of instructions, one Japanese one English.

Classic, old school Tamiya instructions, with photos and margin notes.

Some bits and bobs.

And some bobs and bits!

This kit dates back to 1977, so there was a little filler needed. But not much!

Main assemblies done, and primed in Ultimate black primer.

And base coat down. Model air OD for this.

That's it so far, decals next! All five of them, lol.
Thanks for looking in guys

More done here!
Decals down, no probs at all with these, contrary to popular opinion, lol!
Also gave it a pin wash.

Then gave it another coat of Aqua gloss to seal all that in.

Waiting on that lot drying now
Cheers for looking guys

How did you manage to paint the red on the wheels ? I've always got to paint silver first but i see no hint of that here

Ohhh! I love this tank. Keep it up!

Cheers guts

It's a chisel tip, but there are finer versions out there, but it'll do me til it runs out, lol!
John, I use this little paint marker for stuff like that.Johnj wrote:How did you manage to paint the red on the wheels ? I've always got to paint silver first but i see no hint of that here![]()

Last update on this
After a Matt coat, I added some light weathering, I wanted to keep this as a reasonably clean build.
Sprayed on some exhaust stains using a dark clay wash.

And some dust and light mud splatter with Ammo dust.

Then everything was sealed with another Matt coat to finish.

And that's that done. I'll add a bit of info and pics in the reveal section.

Re: Chiefs 1/35 gepard
They're pretty good Pete. I have black, white and yellow in the fine tip, good for small details in wheel bays and the like. I could do with a red one as the one I have is a chisel tip. I suppose I could just trim the tip to a point?
