Carrot's Efreet Custom

Post by EvilCarrot »

Looks like I'll be the second Efreet in this SiG but I don't mind, should be interesting to see how that turns out. I'll be doing a straight out of the box build. I will paint it close to the original color scheme but I'll add some variation using the Gunze mecha paint sets.

The impressive box-art:

Some shots of the sprues:

The markings on the right are stickers, not decals unfortunately

I will do a full build of the kit and then disassemble it for painting, it gives a good idea of the visible areas and whether or not filling and sanding will be needed. Sometimes I cut or sand a bit off of a locating pin in order to make disassembly easier, as is seen here:

And here's the assembled head and torso. Not my favorite colour scheme but it's starting to grow on me.

First impressions: Not too complex, great fit and not too many gate marks to deal with. This would be a great starting kit if you want to take your first steps into the world of Gunpla.

To be continued!

Just gonna be throwing my popcorn around tonight! :pop:

As I said in the other Efreet thread, it's a kit that grows on you even if you don't like it at first. Just something about it. Also GREAT value for the money from the looks of the packed box ;)

In terms of pure looks I think these RE/100 can compete with a lot of Master Grades, especially the older ones. The difference with the older 1/100 High Grade kits is huuuuge! Downside is no inner frame and the joints aren't very tight. Might go for a fixed pose with this one, but we'll see.
