Meng B-17G Egg Bomber

Monday night at the bench...all my chores done

Tested out the Apex Ultimate Airbrush...sprays like a freaking charm right out of the box. Just shot cleaner through but I can tell it is a great spray and I like the feel straightaway. Bugger if I remember where I put the three quick disconnects I ordered from Amazon....or did they even get delivered

This big bird is going to be depicted in flight, so out comes the Dremel,220 sandpaper, some clear acetate and a mandrel...so I can spin the plastic and make a perfect 28mm diameter circle...that is the dimension the black kit prop would be spinning

Then the test fit, they look comme ca Note the body and wings are not cemented, just test fitted

I will paint the edges and middle to look like it is spinning and put on the kit's central shaft attachment

I am refining my spinners RFN

Progression of the spinnerz
I used a dry brush with some True Metal Aluminum and spun on the mandrel in the Dremel
Then same paint on the kit prop and some yellow on cotton swab again spun in the Dremel
Some refining to do, still not happy with it yet

I just cannot find my decal paper stuff to run through the printer.....it is in a dang box here somewhere........RRrrrrrrrr

Oh well, I made some more bombs with the spare silicone stuff from casting the Porsche rear deck on my glue bomb build

I think the grass/mossy green stuff is too much, though
I liked the contrast with the bright bombs it when it was darker

I hear ya, we've felt like Morloks here emerging into the day for the first time in centuries. A single ray of sun and we run outside like it's the last day ever.

Hard to say about the green, myself I lean towards a contrast for an overall effect instead of a single detail, but I get all to well the problem of a detail causing me to fixate on it to the detriment of the rest of the kit.
