Well this is mine. After seeing some of the others I think I may have to clean my act up a bit.

Where I store a fair bit of crap.

My test bench where I test run my model train purchases after I fit a decoder.

i find it alot more strange when i see a clean and neat work space.. either you dont use it or you just cleaned it up for pics.. thats no fun.. Im with Coen, a dirty work space is a real work space.

Nothing wrong with having a clean and tidy workspace look at mine, always clean and tidy, but I do a lot of modeling on it. A little OCD never Hurt anyone lol

Not even my fishing tackle area can compete with what I've seen.
At this stage, I've got to make do with setting up camp in the dining room.
Hopefully soon I'll have a combination tackle and modelling room.
Should be an interesting cocktail of smells.....Hehehehe!

Not room for all my paints but I figure the Humbrol paints can still stay under the bench.
When I get this next round of loco projects done I'll start on the rest.

I just started modelling for the first time in my adult life and i do not have the tools or a set up in London yet (or much time after work).
My dad is into model railways and it was being at the farm with him at christmas i decided to start a build as we have the space and the tools all set up. I only get up there every month or so and that makes my build progress slow

He had a upstairs level built in the barn a while back and has been building his railway layout since and so we keep all the tools in there now and it stops paint and glue for going on the kitchen or dining room table

It is a bit messy, think the brewing up station the tidiest

My modest wee work area - Im lucky our daughter moved out a few years ago so I managed to annex the spare room.

Just got this workbench delivered yesterday, spent all afternoon banging the bugger together, pleased with the result, although my paint stash feels small compared to others on here !!!!!

Also its a little tidy having only been built and all me stuff freshly layed out, havent had time to properly mess it up yet although I do like the look of it tidy, so my OCD might win.

(Notice the Ultimate stuff - fly the flag and all that !)

Next up I`m making a catalog of my stash so I`ll do the obligatory post of those puppies when I`m done.

Might actually get round to building something !!

On my bench I have, a MIG - welder, a chainsaw (in pieces), an angle grinder, another angle grinder (knackered gearbox), lots of spiders and a cardboard machine gun that I built for my kids.

To be fair, this is only really my spray booth, most of my assembly is done on our kitchen worktop. But as I have a 100 litre compressor, my wife won't let me bring it indoors!

I revamped the modelling room over the last couple of days. I moved most of trains out, I'll take these down south and only work on one when I need to, and added a new spray bench. My Bench vent unit hasn't turned up yet, geez the poms are slow and I paid for air freight, so I'm using the old Sparmax unit. I didn't fancy drilling big holes in the wall for the exhaust so I used a simple solution with a piece of 6mm ply and the window

So this is the new desk. It has a polyvinyl coating on it so it should be reasonably easy to clean.

This is how I hooked up the exhaust from the booth. I simply unplug the hose and remove the plywood so the window behaves like a normal window. I just couldn't be bothered cutting holes in walls and adding vents.

Next big project will be to tidy up the building desk. This will be no mean feat as there is a shitload of crap hidden on it. Should be fun

I couldn't use my dining room table as A) it's glass and B) all my magazines are piled up on it,on the floor around it, at either end of the lounge, in cupboards, in plastic storage boxes, in the garage

So much crap I'd swear it reproduces when I'm talking to the aliens

I like your set up. You'll really like the BenchVent unit. I received mine a week ago. The service from BenchVent was second to none! The unit showed up just 4 days after I ordered it (and I'm in the U.S.). The hose/duct it came with was torn for some reason but they sent me a new one immediately. I need to install it, which it isn't very hard according to the instructions they provided.

Did you order spare filters with yours? I should have but didn't.

Rob, thanks for the kind words. It took a bit of effort on my part to move the trains out, 167 of them. There are still a few there out of sight but it made think that I had a few to many. Some of them have only run once in 5yrs so I'll be offering a few up for sale:( But I do need the space because at the moment I have 5, 30L stacker boxes sitting in the lounge room full of trains. So there headin down south.

Haven't seen my bench vent yet but it'll get here one day. No I didn't order the spare filters as they are available here in Oz

Interesting. The filters that are available there, are they directly from BenchVent, or are these something similar anyone can buy at a hardware store? According to the documentation I received with the unit, their life-time warranty offer only applies if their own branded filters are used. I'm sure there's no one here in the states that sell BV-branded filters. I did think about using the more generic particle types I may be able to find here.

Please post pics when you get yours..

Rob, there is a company down here that will supply the bench vent unit. Problem is they charge roughly 4 times the pommy ex tax price plus postage which ran the unit out to about A$1800 which is way to much. What I did was source it through our company's purchasing dept so I get it at the pommy ex tax price plus freight and no worries about customs.

The filter set is about A$136 from the same company and the do state that they are oem filters. If they aren't available then I'll just get them from the UK.

I didn't have anything like it before, so I don't have another lamp to compare it with, but it is as bright as hell and made me happy

That one was £25 from argos I believe, at the modelling show at the weekend I saw almost identical for sale £35 so that made me feel better.

Ooops bugger that didn't make me feel great

I paid £38.17 from Amazon plus P&P.
I was trying to buy it through Sylmasta but they have stock issues.
Oh well, never mind. Hope it helps when it comes as I need to do some figure painting soon.

Lee, I hope it's well insulated as it must get bloody cold in winter. I was born in Scotland and I remember what cold winters were like. Here in Oz if it gets below 18C I'm heading for the heater switch

. It's 12C outside at the moment, we are in winter, and I have the reverse cycle A/C blasting away at 23C so I'm nice and toasty

Nice little shed though. You wouldn't know from the ISM videos you do that it's just a garden shed.

Hi guys, I'm quite new to the site still finding my round the forum. I made a small introduction & left some comments every thing I look at on here is just fantastic.
I got a 1/72 Airfix starter kit a Thunderbolt P-47D as joke prezzie & well I think some of you know what happens you find your way here and so on.
This is the space what I had.

Built some 1/72 models there while I was getting the bug back & collecting some tools and other stuff, Taking over a small part of the living room

Made some effort to clear some stuff out of the loft & now very very happy. Here's my Area & Work space
