Tomcat's Aoshima McLaren F1 GTR

Post by Tomcat64 »

So after a couple of months I managed to finish up my first car kit in roughly 35 years. This is Aoshima's McLaren F1 GTR built pretty much out of the box except for the harness which I felt was needed to finish the cockpit details. Really enjoyed the build and although there was some head scratching in places I'd happily recommend this kit to anyone. It's not without its flaws especially with the gloss finish and there's definitely things I'd do differently if I was to tackle it again but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

The build thread is here

Thanks to everyone that followed the build and took the time to offer encouragement and advice.

All the carbon fibre decals were included in the kit which was a nice touch.

Thanks mate - it's a great kit imho, there's a couple of fiddly bits but nothing too dramatic; would definitely recommend it.
