BUT! I do have quite a few 1/72 thingies, and I've yet to really use my hobby space since buying this house so no better time like the present to do something about this. So I chose probably one of the more simple kits (let's hope) to rip this band-aid off.
The kit is from the 2003 show "Last Exile". It was an interesting series that had a sci-fi theme but retro-future aesthetic. The warships are all very late 19th/early 20th century in their designs and the small craft like this vanship were similar to early aircraft.

I get a strong early race car vibe from it, too.

You can do a few different color schemes but we're going with the Alfa red version:

There's also a second small craft included called a "Vespa" which I may or may not do, too. Time willing:

Why is the text all in Greek? I dunno. There is also a bunch of nice line art on the back of the poster of the pilot and her copilot:

Runner A:

Runner B:

Runners C, D, and E:

Runner F:

There's also another runner with a clear stand for both ships but I left that in the bag for now.
Here's to hoping I get any work done on it!
If you want, here's a video someone made put to some music (from a Seattle band, I might add) that gives you a pretty good taste of the show:
