Cool, what do you do in Bahrain?

I wanted to visit Bahrain while I was in Qatar for 2 months but didn't have the chance to do so :(

I work for the US Navy, a global force for good!

I'm getting older and lighting or lack of lighting has been noticeably more of a problem for me. I just happened to see this big ass florescent light fixture at the WalMart and it was only $15, plus another 8 for bulbs. It's a lot brighter than the expensive armature light I was using. I thought these fixtures were a lot more expensive so I never bothered to look at them before. Anyway, this one is great and bright and I like it!

It works great, although I'm no pro. It was on the high side but buy once cry once. I thought if I bought a cheap one I would be replacing it due to breakage or performance. If I was to do it all over I would have gone with the color cup on top of the body instead of the side, mount color cup and the only reason for this is clean up. But it works and I have no complaints. I called the company with a question and they were a dream to deal with. Customer service goes along way with me as I'm sure it does with most people.

My workspace will be changing a touch as I will be moving from my current flat into my parents house for a few months. So while I aim to have my desk with me etc. I won't have a proper space until I move into my next place. I need to wait til I start my new job etc and work out finances, then we can decide where we move too. I would like a 3 bedroom house. 2 bedrooms and a smaller room for a man cave.

Nice workspace. I would change the stereo for maybe some loudspeakers on your laptop, gives you imediatly twice as much workspace.

Actually that's a damn fine idea. Can't get rid of the stereo as it's a proper 'un and I like my music but the seperates should go under the desk and I can wall mount the speakers...I like your thinking sir! :th:

Seeing all this awesome work spaces has inspired me to clean up mine a bit... and I discovered a setting on my doodad called panoramic photos... COOL.
It make the room look bigger than it really is, but it's totally bizarre. :)

OK, so I've been planing my new work area since the back end of last summer after I finished my room and realised that the room was so nice I couldn't any longer do any modelling in it!

It wasn't until this summer that I got enough money and time to do anything about it, there was no room in the house, so I had to branch out into the garden and get myself a shed.

So after 3 VERY hot days in the hottest part of the year I ended up with this.

Image

Then this happened.

Image

The inside was much like any other shed.

Image

Then I did this.

Image

Wrapped it all in baking foil and suspended the floor.

Then completely clad over that with ply.

Image

Painted and painted it.

Image

Added loads of shelf space.

Image

Then preceded to fill it all with lovely model making stuff.

Image

And as of today at about 2.30 this afternoon here is the finished Model Den.

My Airbrush compressor.

Image

A couple of draws I built for under the workbenches.

Image

Image

Now a complete pan of the place in pictures from top left as you walk in to top right as you walk out, LOADS of pictures so I will do these in thumbnails so it won't take up HUGE amounts of bandwidth for people.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Nail Art corner for the lady fair.

Image

Image

One of my two current projects, a cool little battery powered car.

Image

The two lights I have to light the place up.

Image

Image

Image

My other project, a 1/36th scale Corgi Mini that I'm customising.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

And to finish, a close up of the paint racks I've just finished making!

Image

You Tube video of the place, SORRY, didn't realise the music would come out so loud, SWEARING alert in the lyrics for those with young 'uns.

Thanx buddy.

At the moment not, but there is that much weight in it with all the cladding (6mm ply) and the floor (18mm ply) that it shouldn't go far! And it's surrounded on two sides by a fence and my Dad's shed. That's me Dad's big boy shed next door!

Image

Anchoring it to the ground is something that I am thinking about doing soon though. Just in case. ;-)

Thanx Coen, the space management is what I've spent most of my time planning from last summer. That and getting enough light and power into the shed.
