That's some pretty fabulous paint work. How did you do all those dots on the tank and not lose your mind?

Thanks Lysus the main paint is Vallejo but I just don't trust myself using it at low pressure, it drying on the tip does drive me mad so I went for Tamiya and had a break to let the cramp subside!!

This is a nice little kit, great panel lines although I had one or two issues. The tail is a separate piece with no locating pins so my tail is slightly off centre, its location is also a panel line but requires filling and I’m not good/confident enough to re-scribe filler so gave up :wall: . The panel in the nose was the other issue as the room for nose weight is tight and it took a bit to fare it back in, again you can see that the panel line is missing. The seatbelts are homemade from wine bottle foil, I had to persuade my wife going around Carrefour in Calais that we could only buy wine with metal foil not plastic… I think it works ok at this scale although they are a little too large.

Being forced to do decorating (white gloss is NOT winter camo…) I decided to redo the first Dragon Panther I did some 2 years ago, I was never happy with it and wanted to see if my technique had improved. Tell me what you think…

Much better the second time around mate - looks much more subtle and organic.

If I was going to be picky the only thing that jumps out at me is the spare track on the turret looks a bit bright to me on the second run around, but that may just be the way the colour is popping out in the photo.

Nice looking Panther though

Yeah, I'm no expert on tank weathering but that was my only thought as well. Otherwise it looks to me to be very well done.

This is the Revell 1/32 109G-10 Erla. I’ve never made a 1/32 plane before and it was a good learning curve, apart from the seatbelts (kit is rubbish) and the undercarriage (I broke one) its out of the box. I found Revels instructions okish but the sprue arrangement and numbering turn it into a “Hunt the part” exercise. However I learnt a lot, it looks ok and we can pretend the bits that are missing are just invisible…. :nena:

Dragon Tiger II "Porsche" turret in the markings of Funklenk 316 tank 13 with Fruil ATL- Its really more representative of tank no 11 of which there are more pictures but I didnt have the decal.... Funklenk 316 seem to have been the first issued with Tiger 11's but they seem (from the pictures and reports) to have really been V's with varying exhausts and other bits attached. They were recalled and put on a train which never made its final destination and toured France until being unloaded and destroyed with only 13 seeming to fire a shot.

Eduard (Academy rebox) Tiger II. This is the one that comes with transport tracks but wasnt what I had in mind. This was my first attempt at zimmeritt and didnt go too badly. The front glacis is milliput and the hull sides, rear and turret are "No More Nails". The glacis is way too thick but was part of the learning curve. The Drive sprockets were replaced along with the track with the unused parts from the Dragon KT above so as it had some vague rightness with the zim.

Trumpeter T-62 Mod.1962 (Iraqi Regular Army) 1/35
Not too bad a kit, the instructions have a Dragonesque feel with some parts missing completely. The kit come with a massive metal barrel and copper wire for the cables which is a real bonus, individual link tracks are included also but less swearing was involved in the construction so either I'm getting better or these were easier...

Revell 1/72 Heinkel He 177 Grief.
Image

Image

Image

Image

Ok the pluses first. This seems to be the only He177 kit available for some strange reason
The minus: the kit dates to 1997 and the fit of the glazing is not great. I suspect someone north of the border (no names..) could beat this into submission. Fritz doesn't fit to the holders properly and the 'wings' have no easy locator and look a little odd and the decals which are the supposed update are made out of recycled plastic bags- I know I need to buy Ultimate decal setter but this was silly.
The reason for this though was to test the Montana acrylic pen, this was an empty and re useable tool that I filled with (slightly too thin) MMP and it worked like a dream, have a look on YouTube and £4.50 delivered via that well known South American river.

Love the top camo effect.
The pen came in very handy, could not imagine spraying that😱

Such an impressive camo scheme. Well done! Where is your Apache? That little bird deserves to be here!
