So finally got some time to work on this after finishing my bomber sig entry. So far not really so much as issues with this kit as complexities. First theres the cockpit and nose section, there was a little fit issue, the cockpit tub needed the sides sanded down a bit so the halves of the nose section fit right. And that leads me to the first complexity, because its a tub and not a base the parts go on i'm going to have to paint the inside of the tub and the seat and panel seperately.

And thats just one of the many sections that need to be painted seperately, the moveable wings, main body, tail section, arms that hold the gun and the gun will need to be painted seperately.

Then theres the leg/thrusters, the front section with the turbine fans is simple enough, only issue was the turbine fan part inside the back part of it stuck out so it needed to be filed down so the scoop part would fit properly.

Then theres the back end of the thrusters which all needs to be painted seperately before constuction because the thrusters are moveable and the turbine sets back inside the "leg". So i need to paint the thruster ends and the fan first then the inside of the main part and the landing gear part then it needs to be put together and taped up so that section can then be attached to the previous section and so the whole thing can then be painted, so its gonna be quite the jigsaw painting puzzle but i am finally ready to get on to the first phase of priming.

So a small update, well technicaly they're all small i 1/72, but any way did the first round of priming and started on the cockpit. First was the tub,i started with a dark grey base (army painter's necromancer cloak) then painted the panels on the side of the tube flat black and used a toothpick to dab little dots of color for all the little lights and doodads on the panels, came out pretty good i think, then added some additional lights and featurs on the thingy behind the seat, then painted the seat the same grey and a dark stone color. Next got the control panel painted black coated all in future, added some shadowing with a pin wash and added the control panel decal. Waiting on some tamiya xf-86 clear flat in the mail to give it the final coat, but decided to mock it up for your viewing pleasure.

Late to the party but it looks off to a great start. Hope it's still going... Have a 1/72 Black Aces in the stash so I'm eager to see what the kit is like :thumb2:

Sorry mate - I missed this post.

No worries about not making it in time - make sure you get the tendonitis sorted out first.

Would love to see the finished item when you do get back to it :cheers2:
