Bandai HGUC AMS-129 Geara Zulu

Post by Lysus »

Just a bit of fun to take my mind off a bogged down build.

Mr. Color German Grey, Grey-Black, and c329 Yellow over Badger/Ultimate Grey primer. A pin wash with Tamiya liners and some Ultimate Dark Dirt over the weapons were the only really weathering done, I wanted it quick and clean. Thanks for looking, criticism welcome, natch.

Nice job. Looks very crisp. Reminds me of Nazi troop from Wolfenstein.

You know what they say about robots with overly-sized guns....compensating ;)
Nice builds they look pretty cool and animated :thumb2:

I watched the entire fifth season (and last) of Samurai Jack over a summer night...this guy's head reminds me of Scatamouch robot
If you have not seen it, time well wasted

Just saw this on the Kingdan roman numeral appreciation thread.

Really tidy job mate! Did you paint up the yellow shoulder guard separately and then add it after or was there some clever masking involved?
Cheers, Neil

All the bits can be painted separately before you put it together. Some kits you need to do some masking, some even a LOT of masking, but this one you can just do it up on its own. Photobucket ate some pics I had from last year that illustrated this better, but here's an example, all the parts in the bin have been sub-assembled by color and will go together after painting:

I loved Samurai Jack, maybe more than I should have "lol: Fun fact: The creator made the show after he decided he didn't want to write dialogue anymore.

Thanks, man. Yeah, it has a very German soldier vibe to it.

Ah yes - I remember the tubs with the parts separated out but hadn't registered that they were different colours in each tub. Neat.

I included the designation Sd.kfz. in my last update and he didn't try that - I'm assuming he thought they were roman numerals in disguise :D

Thats very neatly done James, the various finishes look just right. Is he fully poseable when finished?
