1. Tamiya newly announced 5cm Anti-Tank Gun (Pak38). According to one of the vendors, this won't hit the street for sales until November.

2. Eduard 15,000th P-40N. It had the convention logo on the box art, so I had to have one.

3. Value Gear stowage for German and US Armor. Nice dude, even gave me some loose freebie stowage at various scales.

4. Sprue Brothers sanding sticks. Nice people in their booth gave me a handful. It was very much appreciated!

5. Squadron grass tufts that sort of look like dandelions. Figured I'd test them out on some bases. Might be a cheaper solution to Games Workshop or Army Painter.

Overall a great haul and show!

Ps....did you catch up with the guys from Plastic model Mojo ?.....it's a podcast.
Thanks! I did see them there and said hi. Also talked to the Model Geeks Podcast guys quite a bit. Great bunch! Saw Mig Jimenez too.

I tells ya, there are times I am not the sharpest tool in the toolbox :bash:

eBay listing with a 15% discount ad to me as I browsed it….a lab dessicator.
Hey that would be great for curing paint, speed up drying times. Super cool lab surplus, I am a lab rat of old, perfect.

Image

Image

Does a dessicator = a dehydrator, Scott? no it does not. Not even close.
I do have a lovely lexan box that has no fan nor heater to accelerate paint curing
Dope
I could have made this myself from plexiglass
I do have a computer fan, a light for heat and a thermometer….. convert this lab send off into a paint dust and dry cabinet
Oh great, another project

Scott, Please let us know how that chrome spray works for you... I may be needing something like that for one of my future projects.

Been a while since I've been able to do anything constructive however that didn't stop the postman!
First up - WW1 Germany:

Then WW1 British:

Got these 4 in 1/48 as I'd got some figures in that scale and had an idea for a diorama

Real wood prop for the WnW Bristol F2B:

Some 1/35 LRDG/SAS figures from Temu to try out:

And the (obligatory) Lightning:

Then we have American:

    Neil,

I often wondered how modelers got those WW1 props to look so real (like wood), and that explains it. That can certainly bring a finished model to another level.

I also thinking that 1/72 Badger is still going to be a good size model. I can't imagine it much larger in scale.

I see you got 2 F8's; are you planning a carrier diorama with two? Perhaps one to build and one to use a trade material?

All together it looks like a nice haul.

I saw the Wooden Prop advertised on LF Models web site and it looked good so.... The Badger is going to be big - but will go nicely with the 1/72 Tu-160 in the stash as well as the 3 Airfix V Bombers. I'm hunting the Tu-22 to make the Soviet trio.
The two F8's came as a bundle - not sure what the plan is yet. Might trade one or I might build one gear down and one in flight....

Had another visit from the postie today - I used a few of the Flying Hours I've collected from Airfix and invested £3.50 in their WW2 Albion 3 Point Refueller:
    Image

And from an auction site I bagged the Airfix 1/48 Jaguar - I think its the old tooling one but it has the conversion kit to make it into the two seat Trainer version:

Bifford, I love the resin Lexus LC500, we looked closely at buying a used one with low miles (coupe not the convertible). They are a fantastic car in real life. The one we checked out was red with a tan interior (there was also a silver with red interior we liked but it sold before we could visit it). Never did make the purchase (yet at least). We will watch your build closely....

Neil, Those oils would be wonderful wor large scale figures (mixing for flesh tones) too. Big fan of the Jaguar GR1A aircraft as well. I think for the period, they were a attractive design.

I liked the Wessex in service - and I'm in the process of starting the Mastercraft release - which quite frankly is awful so it will be interesting to compare the two.

Not technically the mail man, but I did snag these at a local flea market today.

They also had a ton of plane kits all priced at the same 14.99 no matter the kit, but I'm just not a plane builder myself.

                  Image

The KV-85 was priced well below market value, and the italeri kit I bought just to have as it's a pretty old molding and probably not that detailed in all honesty

I'm quiet pleased with that and the Icm radio car. I'll be moving on the old Italeri dukw fairly soon I suspect.

The Italeri one is a bit basic its true. Bilds into a nice model though - I made it about 6 years ago. You could keep it and finish it to the opposite of this one - Europe instead of Pacific, British instead of American or vice versa. :)
