Beast of the Green Hell Tamiya Mercedes

Post by Twokidsnosleep »

This is on my bench...a sexy mother of a car with a wicked flat green dress for her to put on
Image

Splash green paint with flat clear...donated by a wonderful ISM forum guy
Green Hell SK decal set...also from the same awesome forum friend :geek:
Scale motor sports carbon fibre decal....I have not tried to do this stuff yet

So some silly pics with my LED’s set to green :ugeek:

Looking forward to the weekend to get a proper start on her

Thanks everyone.
I really like this car super dooper cool.
I may modify it slightly from the decal set just to do something a touch different
Gotta get some decent semi gloss black asit is all over this car...Paul suggests the new Tamiya Laquer one.

I've been doing some experimenting this week and brewed up a semi-gloss black by mixing Ultimate Black & Gloss Black primers about 40:60 - obviously how much shine you want will alter the mix appropriately but 50:50 was a little too matte for my liking.

Might be worth a try out?

ahaaaa, very interesting. I was thinking about just using the gloss and be down with it, but that is a great idea.
Those are my favourite blacks to spray so...

I was in the same boat and thought I'd have a play; not sure how well the sheen shows up in this but the arches have had a couple of coats of homebrew :)

Cheers all you guys, kinda boring still, will jazz her up as I go along.
I have found the Tamiya LP paints are really nice to spray for me, better than my normal Tamiya paint. Maybe not totally fair as the silver tamiya was all old and clumpy when I opened the bottle.
This could be trouble as I have a new paint line to acquire now.

Bob is such a slacker. I was hoping that re-homing him would help.

Awesome work on the Merc. she is a beauty! I love your little details. They add so much to the final result. Makes me want to do another one to see how much I can steal from your build. The trim around the seat is just wicked cool and matching it with the door cards is inspiring.

Awesome work on the interior so far - really looking forward to seeing what else you cram in there.

And the lines of that body shell are a thing of beauty.
Cheers, Neil

hey cheers guys..nothing like sticking a few wires and stuff around the footwells pretending I know what I am doing :shifty:
The reference photos are a bit spotty for the passenger side, but I did the best I could and ad-libbed a bit
More done but I was letting the glue set up.
I made what I think is the CPU a green cover that matches the car

Need some touch ups now that I see these photos large
Had to drill holes and run wires through to lock down that blue wire....pics tonight!
