I'm very pleased to finally be able to reveal the StuG iii ausf G diorama that I've been working on since January 2nd - this is by a long, long way the most complex project I've ever attempted.
This was the third GB/SIG that I've taken part in and the first that I've been able to join since the start, which is just as well as it's taken me pretty much the whole 4 months (less four days). I've really enjoyed taking part in this Group Build and I'd like to thank anyone that followed along with the build and especially those who took the time to comment and offer advice and encouragement - it definitely helped when the mojo was dropping.
The build thread is here for anyone who wants to take a look through.
But for some quick stats first this was my third 1/35 armour build since returning to the hobby and my second go with a Miniart diorama - the first was just a wall! There were a number of firsts as well including my first full interior for an afv, and my first time around with workable track links. In all the components for this came from eighteen different sets of kits and after-market components not counting paint, rubble and weathering effects. I took over 500 photos during the build and posted over 300 of them, there's part of me that wishes I'd kept a log of the hours taken but there's another part that's glad I didn't.
I said in the opening post of the build thread that I was "trying to give the impression of wind-driven freezing temperatures outside of the ruins, with the buildings offering some minimal shelter for those inside" Hopefully I've managed it.
Anyway enough rambling - here are the photos; there's quite a few of them as there's a lot I want to try and show you.

If you got this far then thanks very much for staying with me!
